Referees are independent contractors.  The NH SRC cannot help nor guarantee that you will be assigned games as a licensed referee.  In other words, licensed referees must take initiative to contact an assignor to receive games to officiate.

Developing a positive working relationship with an assignor is an important aspect to receive games.

Communicating with Assignors

Things to Consider

Assignors want referees who are dependable.  When communicating with an assignor regarding games, make sure to consider the following:

  • Ages willing to referee (both as a referee and AR)
  • Travel limitations
  • Time limitations (especially if you play)
  • Parent/guardian availability if you do not drive
  • Significant events such as birthdays, standardized tests (PSAT, SAT, ACT), prom, graduations, etc.
